Food Truck Dossier: Nothin But Nadas

Food Truck: Nothin But Nadas

My First Thought: With "nada" meaning "nothing" in Spanish, we have Billy Preston here, right? (Nothin' but nadas leaves nothin'...okay, it's a big stretch, but that's how my mind works.)

Reality: The food truck's name really doesn't lie: this trailer serves nothing but freshly fried up empanadas with various fillings. Despite a noticeable warning sign about the empanadas being super hot, I've found they generally are sufficiently cooled off enough after a couple of minutes to be handled safely by both hand and mouth.

Standout Item: Basically, it boils down to the fillings, and based on our experiences, the beef option is our favorite. The other meat-based 'nadas we've tried are fairly tasty affairs as well. For those diners who aren't carnivores, Nothing But Nadas usually offers a non-meat filling option, including Cheese, Buffalo Mac N Cheese, and Veggie.

Bonus Item: Being a spice head, I would normally say the sriracha-tinged cilantro sauce option, but I have to give the nod to the neatly crimped edges of these hand pies. The exterior texture in general is pleasurably lighter and less dense than you might think.

Bottom Line: Nothing But Nadas empanadas are not gourmet creations by any means, but provide solidly filling fare when you're in the mood for something a little more novel in the hand-held food category.
